A Passion for Casting Fostered in Niihama

The history of HIMATEX reaches all the way back to 1882. Based in Niihama, the birthplace of the Sumitomo group, we have built a history spanning over 140 years with businesses focused on casting and forging. Over the course of this extensive history, we have proudly maintained the specialized techniques and expertise built up by our predecessors and consistently displayed a passion for securely passing on technical skills and knowledge.

Technical Innovation Backed by Our History

Never content to simply follow tradition, we continuously pursue innovation and further evolution. A range of technological innovations have brought us to where we stand today, including development of Japan’s first ductile rolls, SIP (Sumitomo Improved Penetration), and forged chains. In responding to demands brought by changes in the social environment, we will continue to refine our specialized techniques and create new traditions of our own.
